Getting Saved
How can I be "saved?"
We're all just making a mess of things in His creation. Everyone goes round doing whatever they think, making up their own rules and doing whatever.... if you could have stopped Hitler in the street and asked him what he was doing, he'd probably have answered it was good or necessary and justify his actions...
In the Bible book of Romans it says
Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
We've all failed to live up to God's requirements and made a mess. Some people's mess is bigger than others, but we've all contributed to the state of the world...
Instead of being part of the problem... we can come to God and ask Him to come to live inside us and so together with God-inside we can become part of the solution. It turns out this was His plan for us all along and just what He wants.
In John Chapter 15 verse 5, Jesus says "Apart from me you can do nothing".
So, by trying to be good on our own is futile....
In John Chapter 14 verse 23 Jesus says "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them".
So, you need to tell Jesus that you'd like Him to come and live inside you and help you from now on. You're sorry for the mess you've made and the people you've hurt. Jesus came and suffered on the cross to pay the cost of all you've done wrong and for you to be upgraded !
Ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour from now on.
If you said that to Him and meant it... then it says in the second book of Corinthians Chapter 5 verse 17
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
So in that instant when you just talked to Jesus you got Born Again.
John Chapter 15 verse 5, Jesus says "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
So having invited Jesus into your heart you need to have ongoing interaction with him from now on.
"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now.
I have been living for myself and that is wrong.
I need You in my life; I want You in my life.
Thank you that Jesus Christ gave His life for me on the cross at Calvary,
and I receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice.
Please come into my life now, Lord.
Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Saviour.
From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself,
but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands.
I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God's family.
